It's difficult to imagine a more brutal death than being sucked through an industrial wood chipper—in fact, it's probably best for your sanity and general disposition to not imagine such things at all.

You should also probably consider yourself lucky that you weren't in the market for a new Chevrolet in Chandler, Arizona, on Thursday morning, because there are some things you just can't un-see.

Unfortunate witnesses say that a man trimming trees at the suburban Phoenix-area Chevrolet dealership was standing on top of a wood chipper when he apparently fell head first in to the spinning blades, suffering what the Arizona Republic delicately called a "fatal wound."

"Horrible, absolutely horrible for everyone, coworkers, employees of Freeway Chevrolet, public safety personnel, it is obviously a gruesome death, very tragic," Chandler Police spokesman Seth Tyler told FOX 10 in Phoenix.

Police told the Arizona Republic that there was another man working with the victim at the time, but they are investigating the death as an accident—which is also being investigated by Arizona workplace safety officials.

Wood chippers are obviously extraordinarily dangerous machines—a series of sharp knives mounted on a rotating drum spinning at up to 2,000 RPM designed to shred tough tree branches into chips.

If you fall in…well…at least if you fall in head first, the end usually comes fast—almost instantly, if that's any sort of comfort.

But for those profoundly unlucky souls who go in feet or arm first...well...do yourself a favor and never Google "wood chipper accident." You're not going to like it.

The name of the victim has not been released.
